SHREWSBURY — On Tuesday, Sept. 13, at approximately 3:28 a.m., Patrolmen Dimos Georgiadis and Curtis Ames of the Shrewsbury Police Department were traveling on the Hartford Turnpike when they saw a man parked outside of Sperry’s Super Liquors.
“When I approached the vehicle, I saw the male sitting in the driver’s seat holding a small, plastic, see-through bag, containing a white powdery substance in his hand,” wrote Patrolman Georgiadis in his Statement of Facts for the incident. “The male then proceeded to put some of that white substance on his finger and brought it up to his nose. Based on my training and experience, I recognize that to be consistent with the use of cocaine.”
After observing the man snort some coke, the officers ran the plates of the vehicle and identified the owner as Scott Jackson, 34, of 1182 Grafton Street, Worcester.
Jackson was arrested for Possession of a Class B Substance, Subsequent Offense.
According to Patrolman Georgiadis, another baggie with the white residue of cocaine was found in a subsequent search of Jackson’s vehicle following his arrest.
Jackson’s cash bail was set at $500.
He plead not guilty during his arraignment in Westborough District Court on Sept. 14.
Jackson is scheduled to appear in court again on Nov. 10 for a pretrial hearing.
