The Massachusetts State Lottery announced today that two unclaimed Powerball prizes, a $100,000 ticket sold at the Shell gas station on 747 Plantation Street in Worcester, and a $50,000 ticket sold at Lincoln Liquors on 10 Summer Street in Chelmsford, will expire in October 2024.
The Worcester ticket was for the October 2, 2023, drawing, and the Chelmsford ticket was for the October 7, 2023, drawing.
Both tickets were purchased for drawings with a jackpot exceeding $1 billion, which eventually grew to $1.765 billion and was won on October 11, 2023, by a ticket sold in California.
Powerball winners have one year from the drawing date to claim their prizes. Unclaimed winnings become part of the Lottery’s net profit, which is distributed to all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth.
Prizes up to $103,000 can be claimed at lottery claim centers in Braintree, Dorchester, Lawrence, New Bedford, West Springfield, and Worcester.
