Incident at 102 Pleasant Street

“The reporting party was unsure if the male [i.e. Ramon] was still on the scene,” Officer Donahue wrote.

“Guadalupe and Samuel informed me they had security camera footage of a male party, who Samuel and Guadalupe identified as the resident of Apartment 3, Ramon Dias Martins Ribeiro, smashing the glass of the front entry door to 102 Pleasant Street,” Officer Donahue said. “This video shows a male party in a white shirt and blue shorts smashing the window of the front door to 102 Pleasant Street (MGL 266 126A Vandalism to Property). A second video shows the same male party, Ramon, inside the second-floor hallway of 102 Pleasant Street. Guadalupe informed us prior to entry that [Ms. Oliveira] was safe at a friend’s house, located at [number redacted] Priest Street.”

Damage Inside the Apartment Building

“Officer Taylor and I then went upstairs to Apartment 3, where Guadalupe had opened the door for us,” Officer Donahue said.

Police conducted a sweep of the apartment, but did not find anyone inside. However, officers observed new damage to the wall outside Apartment 3’s door. Guadalupe told police she had not seen the damage before.

“Due to the new damage to the wall and Ramon damaging the front door of the building, through my training and experience, I suspect Ramon had caused the damage to the outside wall of Apartment 3 with the intent to make entry into his apartment,” Officer Donahue said. Adding, “Due to this, I am charging Ramon with a second count of Vandalism (MGL 266 S 126A Vandalism to Property).”

Violation of Restraining Order

Officer Donahue then went to speak with Ms. Oliveira, who was still at her friend’s house on Priest Street.

“[Ms. Oliveira’s] friend [name redacted] was there and helped with translation when speaking with [Ms. Oliveira],” Officer Donahue said. (Ms. Oliveira’s first language is Portuguese).

“[Ms. Oliveira] informed me that today, December 18, 2024, at 2:17 a.m., she received a call from Ramon,” Officer Donahue recounted, adding that the phone number matched Ramon’s in-house phone number.

“[Ms. Oliveira] informed me she has court this morning at 8:30 a.m. at the Fitchburg Court House regarding her emergency restraining order (ERO). After speaking with [Ms. Oliveira] and determining she was safe, I cleared the scene,” Officer Donahue said.

Officer Donahue added, “Ramon was arrested yesterday, December 17, 2024, for Assault & Battery on a Family or Household Member. The victim, [Ms. Oliveira], filled out (ERO) and was granted this order, with the expiration being December 18, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. This ERO was served to Ramon in his cell at 9:28 p.m. on December 17, 2024. Ramon violated two violations on this order, on line two of the ERO to stay away from plaintiff’s residence located at 102 Pleasant Street and line two again for contacting [Ms. Oliveira] via telephone when he called her using his cell phone number (978)-[XXX]-[XXXX].”

Arrest & Court Proceedings

On Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at approximately 9:19 a.m., Leominster police officers met with Ramon at the courthouse and placed him under arrest for the following charges:

  1. Vandalize Property (two counts)
  2. Abuse Prevention Order, Violate (two counts)

Ramon was arraigned in Leominster District Court on Dec. 18, 2024. Following his arraignment, he was released on $1,000 cash bail under the condition that he abide by any existing court orders and stay away from, not contact, and not abuse, Ms. Oliveira.

Ramon attended a pretrial hearing on Jan. 7, 2025. His next court date is a conference hearing scheduled for Feb. 28, 2025.
