“The defendant, later identified as Sean Delvalle, was located walking towards the rear of the above listed address,” Officer Juaire said.
According to police, Sean D. Delvalle, 24, is a resident of 81 Harrington Avenue, Apt. 1, Shrewsbury, MA.
“Later speaking to the victim, known to the Commonwealth, they stated that Delvalle had been intoxicated all night,” Officer Juaire said.

The victim told Officer Juaire that an argument began when she asked Delvalle to sober up while she was caring for their child. Delvalle then started throwing items around the room and broke a mirror.
“When the victim stated to Delvalle that they were going to call the police, Delvalle forcefully closed a door on the victim’s arm, and then from behind put his hands and arm around her neck in a choke hold, making it difficult for the victim to breathe,” Officer Juaire said. “Delvalle then took the phone from the victim and hung up the 911 call. The victim was able to regain possession of the phone, and ran upstairs, at which point Delvalle armed himself with a knife.”
Officer Juaire added, “All actions were intended to cause the victim fear, as well as deprive them the need of police assistance. This caused the victim to flee on foot to an adjacent property and hide from Delvalle, awaiting police response.”
Delvalle was taken into custody and charged with the following:
- Assault & Battery with Dangerous Weapon
- Strangulation or Suffocation
- Witness/Juror/Police/Court Official, Intimidate
- Assault & Battery on Family/ Household Member
Dellvalle was arraigned in Westborough District Court on February 18, 2025. During his arraignment, a dangerousness hearing was held at the Commonwealth’s request. Dellvalle was found dangerous, but not held, rather he was released on personal recognizance with the following conditions:
- GPS monitor with windows for work, church, legal and medical appointments
- Stay away from, not contact the victim
- Refrain from drugs and alcohol with random testing
- Maintain “MH” (mental health) status and sign releases to probation – The defendant must continue any required mental health treatment, comply with prescribed therapy or medication, and provide probation officers with signed consent forms allowing access to their mental health records to ensure compliance with court-ordered treatment.
- Abide by “RO” (restraining order)
- Not commit any state, local, or federal crimes
- Not possess any firearms or destructive devices
Dellvalle is scheduled to appear in court again on April 17, 2025, for a pretrial hearing.
According to Telegram & Gazette courthouse records, Delvalle was previously listed as residing at 87 Orient Street, Worcester, MA. In a separate prior case on around July 2, 2021, he had been charged with assault and battery on a family/household member. The court had set his bail at $2,500 cash, ordered a mental health evaluation, and instructed him to stay away from and have no contact with the victim.
