BOSTON — The Commonwealth’s Department of Conservation and Recreation is rolling out 68 free events across 13 state parks during April school vacation week, inviting kids and families to unplug and get outside from April 19 to April 27.
The lineup includes everything from historic reenactments and scavenger hunts to science activities, live animal encounters, and nature-themed crafts. All events are free, family-friendly, and designed to inspire a deeper appreciation for the outdoors.
“Our schools may be closed for the week, but our DCR park staff are offering fun and creative free programming that allows our kids to continue to learn while exploring our beautiful state parks,” said Governor Maura Healey. “I’m thrilled DCR is once again providing Massachusetts families with an affordable and safe way to keep kids engaged during April vacation.”
Parking fees are waived at all participating sites. No advance registration is required for most events.
