WORCESTER — A 15-year-old male was arrested Wednesday evening after Worcester Police Vice Squad officers observed him with a firearm during surveillance near Southbridge Street, according to a statement from the Worcester Police Department.
At approximately 6:55 p.m. on May 14, 2025, officers were conducting surveillance in the area when they noticed a group of four males who appeared to be juveniles. One individual was “exhibiting behavior consistent with carrying a firearm,” police said.
As officers approached the group, the teen attempted to flee but was quickly detained. Officers located a handgun in his waistband, according to the department. The firearm had a partially removed serial number.
The juvenile was arrested and charged with Carrying a Firearm without a License and Possession of an Untraceable Firearm, police said.
