Four-year-old boy drowns in Lake Quinsigamond, Worcester police say

WORCESTER — A 4-year-old boy died Tuesday evening after being pulled unresponsive from Lake Quinsigamond, according to Worcester police.

Officers responded to the area of Bridle Path — a road along the western shore of the lake — shortly after 5 p.m., a department spokesperson said. Police said the child had already been brought into a nearby home when they arrived and was reportedly found unresponsive in the water.

Paramedics transported the boy to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police have not released the child’s identity, and no further details were immediately available as of Tuesday night.
