Auburn woman, 19, killed after car crashes into Stoneville Reservoir

AUBURN — A 19-year-old woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal crash early Sunday morning that left a vehicle overturned and partially submerged in the Stoneville Reservoir.

According to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, the victim was Finleigh Dragon of Auburn.

Police said that at about 2:20 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to reports of a crash on Rochdale Street. Auburn police and firefighters arrived to find a vehicle that had gone off the roadway and into the Stoneville Reservoir. Dragon was located inside the vehicle and taken to a nearby hospital, where she passed away.

In a statement, the Auburn Police and Fire Departments extended their “deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim.”

The crash remains under investigation.
