Mobile home destroyed in Raynham fire; crews prevent spread to second unit

RAYNHAM — On Friday, September 19, at approximately 10:29 p.m., Raynham firefighters were dispatched to 1549 Broadway, Lot 54, in a mobile home park, for a reported structure fire with occupants possibly trapped inside.

According to Raynham Fire Chief Bryan LaCivita, crews arrived on scene to find a mobile home heavily engulfed in flames. The firefighters confirmed that no occupants were inside the home and rescued two dogs from a rear bedroom.

“Firefighters then quickly knocked down the flames in the mobile home, and also knocked down fire extension to a second mobile home in Lot 53 before beginning overhaul of the damaged mobile homes,” Chief LaCivita said in a statement.

The mobile home in Lot 54 was completely destroyed. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters from West Bridgewater, Bridgewater, and Easton provided mutual aid at the scene. Middleborough crews covered Raynham’s stations, and Lakeville supplied a mutual aid ambulance.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Raynham Fire Department and the State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit assigned to the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
