Haverhill woman seriously injured in four-vehicle crash on Route 121A in Plaistow

PLAISTOW, N.H. — A Haverhill woman was among four people injured Thursday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash on Main Street in Plaistow, New Hampshire, that prompted a response from state police crash investigators.

At approximately 3:42 p.m., on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025, the Plaistow police and fire departments were dispatched to Main Street (Route 121A) near where it intersects with East and West Pine streets following a report of a crash.

According to a statement from the New Hampshire Division of State Police, due to the severity of the crash, the Plaistow Police Department requested assistance from the New Hampshire State Police. Troopers from the Troop A barracks and the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit responded and assumed the lead in the investigation.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2010 Mercedes C300 driven by Sabine Marechal, 41, of Haverhill, Massachusetts, was traveling northbound on Main Street (Route 121A) at a reportedly high rate of speed when it crossed the double yellow center lines into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a 2021 Nissan Rogue driven by Alexandra Smith, 32, of Sandown.

The Mercedes then struck a 2018 Ford Escape driven by 49-year-old Courtney Seymour of Sandown and side-swiped a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado operated by 34-year-old Kevin Vadeboncoeur of Plaistow. It then veered off the road, overturned, and came to rest on a grassy shoulder.

Marechal was trapped in the overturned Mercedes and was extricated by members of the Plaistow Fire Department. She was flown by medical helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Vadeboncoeur and Smith were taken to the Plaistow Emergency Room with minor injuries, while Smith’s passenger—a minor—was also airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Seymour was uninjured.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Plaistow police and fire departments, the Plaistow Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), fire departments from Haverhill, Atkinson, and Newton, Boston MedFlight, Lawrence General Hospital EMS, and the Plaistow Highway Department.

The crash remains under investigation.
