SHREWSBURY โ On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at approximately 11:45 a.m., Officer Alicia Sereti of the Shrewsbury Police Department responded to Metro West Motorcars LLC, a used car dealership located at 295 Hartford Turnpike, following a report of an attempted larceny.

โEsmailin Valdez did attempt to sell a Toyota Rav4 bearing New Jersey temporary registration plates, F589560, at the above-named establishment using a forged New Jersey License, which identified him as Waldo Torres ([a 29-year-old Newark, New Jersey resident]),โ Officer Sereti said.
According to police, Esmailin Valdez, 26, is a resident of the Bronx, New York.
โThe certificate of title Valdez provided indicated that the title was issued on November 12, 2025, however, the dealership where the vehicle was purchased confirmed the day of sale being November 21, 2025,โ Officer Sereti said. โThe title was also presented with the forged license.โ
Officer Sereti said the temporary registration plate was obtained using the forged title and license.
“Shrewsbury dispatchers did run a check on the New Jersey OLN [operatorโs license number] and temporary license plate and they came back to two different females,” Officer Sereti said.
Esmailin Valdez was arrested and charged with the following (Officer Seretiโs explanation for the charges are provided in parentheses):
- RMV Document, Possess/Use False/Stolen (Forged License)
- RMV Document, Possess/Use False/Stolen (Forged Registration Plate)
- False Motor Vehicle Title (Certificate of Title)
Valdez failed to appear for his arraignment scheduled for Nov. 26, 2025, in Westborough District Court, and a default warrant was issued for his arrest.
Disclaimer: If you are wondering why the arrest in this story took place in November, thatโs because I had to file FOIA request(s) to obtain the court documents. FOIAs are time-consuming.
