LAWRENCE — An 18-year-old Haverhill man was arrested and arraigned this morning in connection with the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old Lawrence man last fall.
According to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office, Hugo Delrosario, 27, of Lawrence, was pronounced dead at the scene following a shooting at 154 Essex Street in Lawrence on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025.
The DA’s office said Hector Mota, 18, of Haverhill, was arrested this morning in Haverhill and charged with the murder of Delrosario.
Following his arrest, Mota was arraigned in Lawrence District Court today before Judge Mark Sullivan.
In addition to the murder charge, Mota was arraigned on one count each of carrying a loaded firearm without a license and carrying a firearm without a license.
Mota was ordered held without bail and is scheduled to return to court for a probable cause hearing on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026.
