Elderly driver suffers medical episode, crashes sedan into occupied Raynham home

RAYNHAM — On Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026, at approximately 12:51 p.m., the Raynham police and fire departments responded to the residence located at 1577 Broadway after a 911 caller reported that a vehicle had crashed into the residence.

According to a statement from Raynham Police Chief David LaPlante, first responders arrived to find a sedan that had crashed into the lower brick portion of the home, causing significant damage.

“The preliminary investigation indicates that an elderly male driver from Rhode Island suffered an apparent medical episode before leaving the roadway, crossing the lawn and striking the home,” Chief LaPlante said. “The driver suffered injuries that appear to be non-life-threatening and was taken by a Raynham Fire ambulance to Boston Medical Center – South in Brockton.”

The home was occupied at the time of the crash, but none of the residents were injured.

The Raynham Building Department responded to the scene to assess the home for structural damage, and the Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant also responded to the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Raynham Police Department.
