MEDWAY — Medway High School student-athletes visited the Massachusetts State House on April 8 to be recognized for championship titles earned during the winter season.
According to Medway Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Armand Pires, the winter cheer team, girls alpine ski team and Davis Campbell of the boys indoor track and field team were honored for winning state championship titles during the winter season. They were joined by their coaches and Athletic Director Jeff Parcells.
The student-athletes were presented with certificates recognizing their successful seasons by Senate President Karen Spilka and state Rep. Jeffrey Roy.
“We are immensely proud of these teams and the hard work our student-athletes put in to win various conference, regional, state and New England championships. Their dedication to their sports and academics is commendable,” Parcells said. “We want to thank the winter coaching staff for leading our teams to success, as well as our athletes’ families for supporting and encouraging them throughout their seasons.”

The cheer team won the TVL Championship, South Regional Championship, Division 3 State Championship and New England Championship.
The girls alpine ski team won the Central Mass Conference Ski League Championship and the MIAA State Championship. Athletes who competed individually at the State Championship included Keira Davis, Elle Heiden, Tucker Lafferty, Margaret Morton and Charlotte Richmond.
