Woman found partially nude in Medway park bathroom during youth camp arrested

MEDWAY — On Thursday, July 9, 2026, at approximately 9:47 a.m., Medway police responded to Oakland Street Park following a report of a partially nude woman inside a public bathroom while a youth camp was underway.

According to Medway Police Chief William Kingsbury, the caller reported that the woman refused to allow the children to use the bathroom and would not enter a stall.

“When officers arrived, they saw that the youth camp was underway with about 100 children in attendance,” Chief Kingsbury said.

Chief Kingsbury said responding officers interviewed the camp director, who reported that there was a naked older woman inside the bathroom who was not allowing the children to use the bathroom, and refusing to either clothe herself or use the privacy of a stall.

Police also interviewed a staff member who said that she went into the bathroom and saw the woman, later identified as 54-year-old Julie Ann Pereira, with her pants down and topless with her breasts exposed. Pereira had soap on her arms and appeared to have been washing herself in the sink, Chief Kingsbury said.

“Officers noted that the bathroom was a short distance from where many people, including children, were using the park and that Pereira was exposed to public view whenever someone opened the bathroom door,” Chief Kingsbury said. Adding, “Officers made contact with Pereira and advised her that she was under arrest. She resisted being put into custody, forcing the officers to forcibly remove her from the bathroom and lift her into the police cruiser.”

Julie Ann Pereira, age 54, was charged with the following:

• Open and Gross Lewdness
• Disorderly Conduct
• Resisting Arrest

Pereira was scheduled to be arraigned in Wrentham District Court on Friday, July 10, 2026.
