ATTLEBORO — On Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, at approximately 8:19 a.m., the Attleboro Fire Department responded to a multi-vehicle crash and diesel spill on Interstate 95 North.
According to the Attleboro Fire Department, fire crews were dispatched to mile marker 2.5 on Interstate 95 North near Exit 2, where they found two sedans, an SUV, and a dump truck involved in the crash.
Large quantities of diesel fuel leaking from a damaged fuel tank on the dump truck was flowing into a nearby storm drain when firefighters arrived on scene. Firefighters built a dam around the spill and drain to limit further contamination. The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) responded to investigate and oversee cleanup.
One of the vehicle’s occupants was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital with an injury believed to be minor, the Attleboro Fire Department said. The vehicles involved in the crash sustained minor damage.
Fire crews cleared the scene at about 9:40 a.m.
Massachusetts State Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
