Detective Mitchell Rogers also responded to the scene.
โDispatch advised the reporting party [a 28-year-old male], stated that his black 2025 Toyota Tacoma bearing MA Registration [# redacted] was stolen from his driveway by Harrison Pelletz,โ Officer Riley said.
According to police, Harrison N. Pelletz, 28, is a resident of Upton, MA.
โUpon arrival, I spoke with the reporting partyโฆin the driveway,โ Officer Riley said. โ[He] stated that he picked up Harrison Pelletz around approximately 9:00 p.m. the night before on Aug. 21, 2026, in Worcester,โ Officer Riley said. โ[The reporting party] stated that Pelletz brought cocaine over to his house, where the two of them consumed cocaine for several hours into the early morning hours of August 22nd.โ
The reporting party added that he and Pelletz were the only individuals present at his residence that night.
Officer Riley said the reporting party told him that Pelletz repeatedly insisted that he take Xanax to help him fall asleep.
โ[The reporting party] stated that he fell asleep at approximately 3:00 a.m. while Pelletz was still over and awake at the time,โ Officer Riley said. โWhen he woke up around 5:00 a.m., his keys and Toyota Tacoma were missing. [He] stated that prior to falling asleep, his keys were placed on the table next to the entrance of the residence.โ
At around this time, Officer Riley said he requested that dispatch issue a be-on-the-lookout (BOLO) alert for a black 2025 Toyota Tacoma, provided the vehicleโs license plate number, and asked that the vehicle be entered into the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) database as stolen.
โDetective Rogers and I cleared the scene and checked the main roads throughout West Boylston, attempting to locate the vehicle,โ Officer Riley said.
On Aug. 25, 2026, at approximately 3:57 p.m., Officer Riley said the reporting party arrived at the West Boylston Police Department for a follow up.
โ[The reporting party] advised that his vehicle had been recovered,โ Officer Riley said. โ[He] filled out a written statement form about the chain of events that occurred from the time his vehicle was stolen, to when it was recovered.โ
According to Officer Riley, the reporting party stated that on Aug. 22, 2026, after he reported that his vehicle was stolen, he drove around the Worcester area in his other vehicle in an attempt to recover his Toyota Tacoma.
โ[The reporting party] stated he reached out to mutual friends of both [himself] and Pelletz, seeking information on the whereabouts of his vehicle,โ Officer Riley said. โA friend of theirs (name not given), stated to check Edgebrook Street in Worcester, a location that Pelletz is known to hang out around.โ
The reporting party stated that as he was driving on Edgebrook Street at around 3:30 p.m., he located his Tacoma.
โ[He] stated that he discovered the vehicle unlocked with the keys inside of it,โ Officer Riley said.
The reporting party then contacted the Worcester Police Department, which assisted him in recovering his vehicle.
Officer Riley said he believed Pelletz stole the vehicle because Pelletz was the only other individual present at the reporting partyโs residence on Aug. 21, 2026, the night the vehicle was stolen, and had access to the reporting partyโs keys.
Harrison N. Pelletz, 28, of Upton, was charged with the following:
- Larceny of Motor Vehicle
Pelletz was arraigned in Clinton District Court on Sept. 17, 2026. Following his arraignment, during which he pleaded not guilty, Pelletz was released on $2,000 cash bail.
Pelletzโs next court date is a pretrial hearing scheduled for Oct. 16, 2026.
