LUNENBURG – Firefighters and emergency responders were dispatched to a fire at Cherry Hill Farm, located at 600 Leominster Road, this morning. The fire, which broke out in a silo, has led to significant road closures in the area.
Lunenburg Fire Rescue posted an alert on their Facebook page at about 10:30 a.m., urging the public to use caution around the area of 600 Lunenburg Road. As a precaution, Leominster Road was closed from Prospect Street to Kilburn Street while crews worked to contain the blaze and ensure the safety of the surrounding area.
Motorists and residents were advised to follow detour signs and stay clear of the closed-off section until further notice.
As of approximately 11:11 a.m., Lunenburg Fire Rescue reported that the fire is now under control, and Leominster Road has been reopened to traffic.
