LAWRENCE — On Monday, July 8 at 12:18 a.m., Lawrence police responded to a call at Riverfront State Park on Everett Street, where they found a 27-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
The man, later identified as Henry Marte, 27, of Lawrence, was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to a joint statement by Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker and Lawrence Police Chief Melix Bonilla.
The Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit (SPDU) for Essex County, along with the Lawrence Police Detectives Unit, are actively investigating the incident.
