Michael Harris, 29, identified as motorcyclist killed in Hubbardston crash

HUBBARDSTON — The motorcyclist who died Sunday evening in a crash on private property on Streeter Road has been identified as Michael Harris, 29, of Hubbardston.

According to his obituary, Harris was born in Worcester on February 27, 1996, and graduated from Fitchburg State University with a double major in Information Technology and Business. He worked as an IT system administrator for DCS Corporation and was described as a “jack of all trades” who could fix anything, from lawn mowers to computers. He played drums in the Leominster High School Band, collected and sold scrap metal, and was a Volkswagen enthusiast. He also enjoyed caring for his dog Onyx, two cats, and chickens.

Police Chief Ryan Couture said the crash happened around 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, 2025, on private property with a long driveway at 26 Streeter Road. Harris was operating a Honda motorcycle designed for both on-road and off-road use when it collided with a parked pickup truck. The crash did not take place on a public roadway, and Harris was not wearing a helmet, Couture said.

Harris was transported by Westminster Fire Department ambulance to Heywood Hospital in Gardner, where he was pronounced dead. The crash remains under investigation by the Hubbardston Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police.

Calling hours are scheduled for Friday, August 15, from 4–7 p.m. at Brandon Funeral Home in Fitchburg. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, August 16, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Leominster, followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
