TEWKSBURY — On Friday, June 5, 2026, at approximately 5:51 p.m., the Tewksbury police and fire departments were called to the Balsam Place Apartments at 100 Balsam Place following a report that bystanders had pulled an unresponsive child out of a pool.
According to the Tewksbury Police Department, the bystanders had already started CPR when police and firefighters arrived on scene.
Firefighters immediately took over CPR efforts. The child was then transported to a local hospital by the Tewksbury Fire Department.
The Tewksbury Police Department said a preliminary investigation found no evidence of foul play, but the incident remains under investigation.
In an update issued at approximately 9:07 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2026, Tewksbury police said the department had been informed that the child involved in the incident, a 6-year-old boy, was in stable condition at Boston Children’s Hospital.
